Retired Navy Lt. Cmdr. Warren James LeCompte Sr., 95, a native of Gibson, La. and a resident of Houma, La. died in Baton Rouge, La. Wednesday, April 30.


He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruby Hebert LeCompte of Houma; son, Warren J. “Jim” LeCompte Jr. and wife Denise of Baton Rouge; daughter, Beryl LeCompte Rhodes and husband Sidney Jr. of Odin, Il.; grandchildren, James P. Daigle Jr. of Houma, Jeffery M. Daigle of Kennesaw, Ga., Warren J. LeCompte III of Virginia, Brian LeCompte, Shannon LeCompte of South Carolina, Joni Alcorn and Sandy Alcorn of Baton Rouge; and seven great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Augustin “Gus” LeCompte and Arcade “Katie” Toups LeCompte; brother, Evans LeCompte; and sisters, Gertrude LeCompte Colomb and Rachael LeCompte Babin.

He was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran of 31 years. He served as president of the local and state chapters of the Reserve Officers Association and the Military Order of World Wars.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 1, and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, May 2, at Chauvin Funeral Home with mass to follow. He will be buried at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 1.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
