Rev. Zilton Lawson Sr., 57, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Wednesday, December 31, 2008.

He is survived by his wife, Andrea Wilkerson Lawson; two sons, Zintray Lawson of Houma and Zilton Lawson Jr. of Anioch, Tn.; two daughters, Zintrise L. Bogen and husband Donald Jr., of Nashville, Tn., and Angel M. Lawson of Baton Rouge, La.; three brothers, Sherman Lawson and wife Bertha, Robert Lawson and wife Shirley, and Isiahal Lawson and wife Jerod, all of Houma; three sisters, Olivia Anderson of Houma, Patronella Shelvin and husband Alton, and Vicky Cotton and husband John, of Houston, Tx.; and three grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Elijah Sr. and Evalina Miles Lawson; three brothers, Elijah Lawson Jr., Clearence and Earl Lawson; two sisters, Betty Coleman McGuire and Edna Lawson; and his grandparents, Ky and Edna Miles and Levi and Olivia Trapplett.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, January 5, and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 6, at Community Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with burial at Crescent Farm.

Community Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
