June 29, 2011Robert Joseph Mayet, 59, a native and resident of Raceland, La., died Friday, June 24, 2011.
Mr. Mayet was the assistant manager of Winn-Dixie in Raceland and had worked there for 36 years. He was a member of the Lockport Carnival Club for 30 years and float captain for 20 years.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Mayet; mother, Jeanne Mayet; daughters, Christie Todd and Robin Mayet; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Mayet; brother, David Mayet; and sister, Marion Mayet.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 28 at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Raceland and 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 29 at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church in Raceland with mass to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery. (Samart-Mothe)
