Rodney Simmons, 70, a native of Houma and resident of Baton Rouge, died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010.
Mr. Simmons was Baptist. He worked as an auto repairman.
He is survived by his son, Jason Glen Simmons; daughter, Glenda Yvette Simmons; brothers, Benjamine and Daniel Simmons; sisters, Dorothy Ross and Helena Allen; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Celestine Simmons; parents, Daniel Sr. and Helena Taylor Simmons; brothers, Albert and Henry Simmons; and sisters, Diane Simmons, Rosedale Fry, Katemae Vanburn and Gloria Vanburn.
Visitation will be held from 8 to 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, at Community Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
He will be buried at Southdown Cemetery.
Community Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
