Ronald “Mickey” “Doc” James Richard, 53, a native of Gray, La., and a resident of Thibodaux, La., died Friday, January 30.

He is survived by his wife, Rosalee Ross Richard of Thibodaux; sons, Ronald Troy Washington and Malcolm Washington of Gray and Richard Washington of Thibodaux; daughters, Kizzy Washington and Lisa Washington of Thibodaux and Angela Zenon of Vacherie, La.; sisters, Bonnie McDowell, Tersa Dumas, Wilhelmenia Thomas, Sharlyn Hunter, Betty Richard, Sheila Richard, Cynthia Richard, Marsha Richard and Wanda Swan all of Thibodaux, Gail Van Doorne of Houma, La., and Betty Jean Richard of New Orleans, La.; brothers, Anthony Richard, Cordell Washington of Houma, Merlin Richard of Houston, Tx., James Richard III, Trevor Perio and Randy Blackledge of Thibodaux and Nolan Perio of Fort Polk, La.; and 19 grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Dorothy Richard; daughter, Leila Southall; and brother, Michael Richard.

He was a member of Church of Christ. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and loved to do mechanic work, fishing and carpentry.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, February 7, at Church of Christ in Thibodaux with a religious service to follow. Burial will be at Halfway Cemetery in Gray.

Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
