Rose Stringer Lapeyrouse, 79, a native of Chauvin, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Thursday, January 8, at 1:20 p.m.


She is survived by her sons, Don “Sput” Lapeyrouse and companion Connie Theriot, and Kevin Lapeyrouse and wife Christine; daughters, Connie Scott and husband Bruce, and Margaret Lebouef and husband Jeff; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Middleton “Tinnie” and Iva Theriot Stringer; sons, Robert “Sonny” and John Lapeyrouse; brother, Donald Stringer; and sister, Elaine Landry.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, January 10, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Houma with the funeral services to follow. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Chauvin.

Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of the arrangements.
