Rose Thompson Brown, 56, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Houma, La., died on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010.

Mrs. Brown was an employee of the Terrebonne Parish School Board, Sunrise Fried Chicken and the Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government.


She is survived by her husband, Earnest Brown Sr.; daughters, Tammy (Earl) Hemry Sr. and Christina (Daveyon) Smith, all of Houma; sons, Michael (Angela) of Texas and Darryle Thompson of Lake Charles, La., and Ernest Jr. (Sandra) and Robert (Stephanie) Brown, all of Houma; sisters, Delores (Harry) Brown and Cora Lee Thompson, all of Houma, La.; brothers, James (Amanda) of Houma, Louis (Rosa) of Atlanta, Ga., Charles (Connie) and Richard (Cheryl) Thompson, all of Houma; 26 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bernice Thompson; sisters, Shirley Halley and Albertha Thompson; brother, Joseph Thompson; and grandparents, Joe and Albertha Thompson, and Eddie and Kitty Sneeze.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, at Community Funeral Home. Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at New Zion Baptist Church.

She will be buried at Halfway Cemetery.

Community Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
