Roy Dunn, Sr., 72, a native of Raceland, La. and resident of Des Allemands, La. died Thursday, December 13, 2007, at 3:17 p.m.


He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Dunn; three daughters, Debra Horn, Cheryl Clements, and Brenda Adams and her husband Patrick; two brothers, Jessie and John Dunn; three sisters, Katherine Folse, Mayola Daigle, and Loraine Horn; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Orelia Bourgeois Dunn; his son, Roy Dunn, Jr.; two brothers, Armand and James Dunn; and two sisters, Alethia Boudoin and Lydia Dufrene.

Roy was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He was a loving husband to his wife Marjorie for 54 years. He was a retired oilfield laborer. He loved playing music and was the leader of his band, “Roy Dunn and the Roamers.

Visitation is Thursday, December 20, 2007, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with the funeral to follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Paradis, La.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
