Royce John Doucet, 46, a native and resident of Galliano, La., died Friday, March 20, at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center.


He is survived by his father, Vincent Doucet; brothers, Allen and wife Kish, Wayne and wife Pam, Kenny and wife Michelle, and Kevin Doucet; nieces, Kaylie Marie and Emily Claire Doucet; Godchild and nephew, Vincent Sam Doucet; step-nieces, Mamie Wiltz and Angel Matherne; and step-nephew, Jacob Wiltz.


He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Collins Doucet; and niece, Lacey Celeste Doucet.

He was a transportation manager with the Lafourche Parish School Board and an active Board of Director with Our Lady of the Sea Hospital. He was a past National Commander of the Sons of the American Legion, and a member of the Galliano Fire Department, St. Joseph Catholic Church Holy Name Society, 3rd Degree Knight of Columbus (Carroll A. Badeaux Council), and 4th Degree Knight of Columbus (St. Pius X Assembly). He was active within the community and held numerous other organization affiliations.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, and 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano with entombment at the church cemetery.

Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
