Ruby Mae Fremin Whitfield, 75, a native of Gretna, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Wednesday, March 18, at 10:04 a.m.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Burton Anthony Whitfield; daughters, Wanda Whitfield Gaudet and husband David, Cheryl Whitfield Tibo and husband Jesse, Helen Whitfield Boudreaux and husband Gregory, and Sheila Whitfield Dupre and husband Philip; sisters, Arabella Ardoin and Beverly Fremin; and grandchildren, Megan and Hannah Gaudet, Katie Tibo, Nicole and Erica Boudreaux and Thomas Dupre.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edmond and Lydie Fremin; brothers, Ernest and Curtis Fremin; sisters, Anna Mae Fremin Atchison and Virgie Fremin Keneaster; granddaughter, Jessica Tibo; and one niece.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed her grandkids and was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, March 20, and 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, March 21, at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with burial at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
