Russell Bruce, 66, a native and resident of Cut Off, La., died Saturday, Sept. 19.
He is survived by his wife, Carol “Kate” Danos Bruce; two sons, Mark Bruce and wife Susan, and Emmett Bruce and wife Dodie; four brothers, Daniel, Eddie Jr., Charlie and Tony Bruce; two sisters, Geraldine Coupel and Judy Matherne; and two grandsons, Quenton Bruce and Noah Bruce.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Ida Bruce; and one granddaughter, MaryKate Bruce.
He was a member of Community Bible Church and was on the Board of Directors of South Lafourche Bank. He was also a former member of the Levee Board and a retired commercial fisherman. He enjoyed cooking for his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request donations for the MaryKate Memorial Playground at Community Bible Church.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, at Community Bible Church with the funeral service to follow. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off is in charge of the arrangements.
