Ruth Singleton “Mama Ruth” McPherson, 92, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Wednesday, June 10.
She is survived by her daughters, Ann Marie McPherson and Theresa Lynn Howard; sister, Beulah Hubbard; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford McPherson; parents, John and Roberta Singleton; brothers, Jerry Singleton, Isiah Singleton and Fred Singleton; and sisters, Susie Jackson, Mary Thomas, Ethel McHenry and Lucille Joseph.
She was Baptist and a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at New Jerusalem Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Community Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
