Sadie Tregre Brien Lirette, 84, a native of Remy, La., and a resident of Bayou Black, La., died Wednesday, March 18, at 7:15 a.m.


She is survived by her husband, Conrad Lirette; son, Celester “Pedro” Brien Jr. and wife Wanda Brien; sisters, Suzanne Monaghan Porche, Ann Redmond and husband Bert Redmond, Joyce Breaux, and Toonie LeCompte Daigle and husband Walter; step-daughters, Connie Casente, Alexis Hellman and husband Dr. Stephen Hellman, and Elizabeth “Liz” Vest; sister-in-law, Gloria Tregre; grandchildren, Shane Brien and wife Nicole of Baton Rouge, La., and Brian Brien and wife Kristy of Dularge, La.; great-grandchildren, Cate, Sadie and Ella Brien of Baton Rouge, and Morgan Brien of Dularge; godchildren, Sandra Ledet, Clayton Breaux, Mary Susan Farrar and Daniel Hellman; and a host of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.


She is preceded in death by her first husband, Celester “Brother” Brien; parents, Felicien J. Tregre and Marguerite Boudreaux Tregre; brother, Woodrow “Joe” Tregre; and sisters, Gladys LeBouef, Isabel Buck and Lucy Tregre.

She was a retired Vice President of Bank One, formerly Terrebonne Bank and a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. She was a former member of the Krewe of Hyacinthians and enjoyed volunteering at Terrebonne General Medical Center. She was very devoted to her church and belonged to the bereavement committee.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 21, at St. Anthony of Padua Church with Mass of Christian burial to follow. Burial will be at Bayou Black Cemetery.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
