Salvador (Sam) Lusco, 86, a native of Lockport, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Monday, August 3, at 10:20 a.m.


He is survived by his wife, Lonnette Yoes Lusco; two sons, Charles Lusco and wife Mickey, and Lonnie Lusco and wife Colette, both of Houma; two daughters, Charlotte Lusco Dupre and husband Wayne, and Dorothy (Dotsy) Lusco Ledet and husband David; one sister, Daisy Cotton of Deer Park, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Curt, Jacob, Julia and Alyssa Lusco, Erin Lusco LeBlanc, Robert Dupre, Elizabeth Dupre Vitrano, Alesia Ledet Blanchard, Nicole Ledet Juneau and Brandon Ledet; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Reba Hoob Lusco; parents, Vincent Joseph and Daisy Guidry Lusco; and two grandchildren, John David Ledet and Jennifer Michelle Ledet.


He was an active charter member and past president of the Christopher Matherne Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #4. He was a retired Captain with the Houma Police Department and the former owner of AAA Body and Fender Works. He was a parishioner of Marie Immacolata Church.

The family would like to extend many thanks to Drs. Raul Dorla and Richard Haydel and their staff, and St. Joseph Hospice.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, August 8, at Falgout Funeral Home’s Chapel with the funeral service to follow. Burial will be at St. Francis II Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Curt and Jacob Lusco, Greg LeBlanc, Robert Dupre, Christopher Vitrano Jr., Brandon Ledet, Corey Blanchard and Bill Juneau Jr.

Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
