Spencer Thomas Sr.

Spencer “Whoopsie” Thomas Sr., 50, a native of Labadieville and a resident of Thibodaux, died Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma Jean Thomas; sons, Spencer Jr., Johaven and Christopher Thomas, Rodger Carter and Nakia Parker; daughters, Lakika Tyler and DeKeysha Carter; parents, Ora Lee and Clarence Thomas Jr.; brothers, the Rev. Trent Thomas, Keith, Emmett, Calvin and Farrell Thomas; sisters, Tanya Batiste, Sharron, Rosemary and Anesia Thomas; and 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Jennifer T. Woods; maternal grandparents, Ellen and Harrison Sanders; and paternal grandparents, Clarence and Leola Thomas.

Mr. Thomas was an offshore rigger.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Dec. 12, from 10 a.m. to funeral time, at Beautiful Zion Baptist Church, 120 Hialeah Ave. in Houma. His funeral service will be held at the church at 2 p.m.

He will be buried at Southdown Cemetery in Houma.
