Sterling Joseph Liner Sr., 74, a resident of Theriot, La., died Tuesday, June 24, 2014.


Mr. Liner was a parishioner, Eucharist minister and usher at St. Eloi Catholic Church. He was a member of the Dularge Volunteer Department and Knights of Columbus. He was a commercial fisherman and trawl netter. 

He is survived by wife of 57 years, Geraldine Liner; sons, Sterling Jr., Wade and Michael Liner; daughters, Veronica Babin, Tracy Lovell, Paula Dufrene and Sarah Coyle; brothers, Sines Jr. and Eldrich Liner; sister, Wilda Hebert; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Yancy Liner; parents, Sines Sr. and Malvina Liner; and sister, Verlin Hebert.


Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 26, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, June 27, at St. Eloi Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery. (Chauvin)
