Law enforcement makes arrest in 15-year-old priest murder case

Ted Joseph Loupe, 59, a native of Cut Off, La., and resident of Biloxi, Miss., died Sunday, September 16, 2007, at 4:03 p.m.

He is survived by his father and stepmother, Nelson E. “Peach” and Helga R. Loupe; two sons, Daryl J. Loupe and his wife Jamie, and David S. Loupe, Sr.; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Jade, Peyton, David Jr., Justin, Jacob, and Jordan Loupe; three sisters, Myra L. St. Pierre and her husband Jeremiah, Ursula L. Melancon and her husband Donald “Donny,” and Juanita L. Melancon and her husband Reggie; and his Godmother, Rose Ledet.


He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma A. Loupe; his grandparents, Nelson J. and Ursula C. Loupe and Louis and Edna C. Arceneaux; and his Godfather, George “Lulu” Loupe Sr.

Ted was a Vietnam War veteran and enjoyed hunting, fishing and raising horses.

He is buried in Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Biloxi.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
