Thelma Bridget Sevin Eschete, 81, a native of Chauvin, LA. and resident of Bourg, LA., died at 6:23 p.m. Monday, February 12, 2007.


Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to funeral time Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mass will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.


She is survived by one son, Rudy James Eschete and wife, Kaya, of Houma; one daughter, Judith Carlos and husband, Carl, of Bourg; four brothers, Leroy Sevin and wife, Diane, of Dularge, LA., Cyrus Sevin and wife, Mona Fae, of Grand Caillou, LA., George Sevin and wife, Earline, of Chauvin, LA. and Ray Sevin and wife, Susie, of Bourg; one sister-in-law, Bella Foret Sevin of Chauvin; two grandchildren, Carl Carlos Jr. and wife, Tammy, of Flower Mound, Texas, and Robin Bergeron and husband, Craig, of Bourg; and three great-grandchildren, Ashley Carlos, Jenna Bergeron and Carly Carlos.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Eschete; her parents, O’neil Sevin and Annie Trahan Sevin; her grandparents, Alexander and Ozelia Pontiff Trahan and Onazip and Antoinette Garibaldi Sevin; and one brother, Junius Sevin.

She was a homemaker and took pride in her family, home and yard. She loved flowers and giving generously to family and friends.

She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
