Theresa Landry Degruise, 78, a resident of Houma, LA. and a native of Chackbay, LA., died Thursday, February 15, 2007.


Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at Samart Funeral Home and from 8:30 to 10 a.m. funeral time Saturday at St. Louis Catholic Church in Bayou Blue. Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Louis Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Hendrick J. Degruise; her son, Stan Degruise and wife, Cathy Samaha; her daughters, Judy D. Thibodeaux and husband, Edward, Catherine D. Adams and husband, Lonnie, Rose Degruise, and Barbara Tregre and husband, Terry; her sister, Amy Lirette; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Nelson and Adella Landry; her brothers, Jessie and Johnny Guidry; and her sisters, Hazel Hidalgo and Emily Chiasson.

Samart Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
