Theresa Pellegrin Hebert

Theresa Pellegrin Hebert, 89, a native and former resident of Little Caillou, La., died Tuesday, Sept. 9, at 12:30 p.m.

She is survived by one foster daughter, Betty Bergeron and husband Earl of Chauvin, La.; one sister, Marjorie P. Authement of Bourg, La.; one great-niece and caregiver, Jessica R. Blair and husband Glenn of Houma, La.; two great-great-nieces, Grace K. Blair and Olivia K. Blair, both of Houma; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces; and great-great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Druby Joseph Hebert; one foster daughter, Kathleen Daye LeBoeuf; parents, Felix A. Pellegrin and Clavia Robichaux Pellegrin; three sisters, Eta Pellegrin Dupre, Marie Pellegrin and Inez Pellegrin Daye; and two brothers, Calvin J. Pellegrin and Modris J. Pellegrin.

She was a retired teacher with over 40 years of dedicated service. She was a member of the St. Joseph’s Ladies Altar Society, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, the W.O.W. Lodge 870, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 9608, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit No. 380, and the Catholic Daughters of America Court Pere Denece 1891. She was a parishioner of Maria Immacolata and St. Joseph Catholic Churches.

The family would like to extend sincere and heartfelt thanks to Vickie, Brenda, Christy, Kristy, Linda, Melinda and the entire staff of the Homestead Assisted Living Facility for all of their loving care that they gave to Theresa. They would also like to thank the entire care team at Journey Hospice, especially Delores, Felicia, Grace and Father Wilmer Todd. All of you were instrumental in giving Theresa peace, comfort and dignity she ever so deserved.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Interment will be at St. Joseph Mausoleum.
