Thomas A. Runnels, 58, a long time resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, passed away peacefully at his home in Gulfport, Ms., surrounded by his children on Saturday, May 23.
He is survived by his older brother, William Joseph Runnels Jr.; younger sister, Janet “Chickie” Marcel and her husband, David, of Houma; his three children, Cheryl Ann Van Duzen and her husband, Chris, Justin Thomas Runnels and wife, Danielle, and Christian Harmony Miller and her husband, Jeremy; and three loving grandchildren, Mina and Duren Van Duzen, and Leif Runnels.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Joseph Runnels Sr. and Cecile Angelina Jaccuzzo of Houma.
He enjoyed boating with his friends on the Jourdan River and fishing in the bayous of southern Louisiana.
Visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 1726 15th St., Gulfport, Ms. with Religious Services to follow.
