Thomas Anthony Voisin Sr., 63, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Wednesday, July 15, at 12 p.m.


He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Louise Voisin; three children, Vicki Wernich and husband Paul, Nikki Giroir and husband Aaron, and Thomas Voisin Jr. and wife Jeanne; mother, Clara Clavijo; three sisters, Diane Harry, Andrea Vargas and Julie Ambler; six grandchildren, David Wernich, Ian Giroir, Austin Wernich, Benjamin Voisin, Sebastian Voisin, Elsie Voisin and one on the way.


He was preceded in death by his father, Percy Voisin; two brothers, James Voisin and Wayne Voisin; and one sister, Connie Ashley.

He was a retired crane operator with McDermott. He was a past member of the Knights of Columbus and an usher and Eucharistic minister at Holy Rosary Church. He was a loving, husband, father and grandfather who loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed fishing and the game of poker. All prayers will be greatly appreciated.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, July 17, and 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 18, at Samart Funeral Home in Houma. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with burial at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Houma.

Samart Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
