Tilman Joseph Griffin, Sr., 81, a native of Golden Meadow, La. and resident of Cut Off, La. died Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at 8:35am.


He is survived by his son, Tilman Griffin, Jr.; two daughters, Carolyn Chabert and Marilyn Griffin; twelve grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Sourita Duet Griffin; his parents, Frank and Arthenaise Perrin Griffin II; four brothers, Adam, Elmo, Frank, and James Griffin; and two sisters; Mabel Cheramie and Yvonne Cheramie.

Tilman was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off where he served as a user. He was owner of Griffin Fence Company.

Visitation is Friday, July 13, 2007 from 10:00am until Noon, with the funeral to follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off. He will be buried in the church cemetery.

Falgout Funeral Home of Galliano is in charge of the arrangements.
