Veleria Denise Jenkins, 45, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and a resident of Gray, La., died Tuesday, July 29.


She is survived by her father, Emanuel Jenkins; fiancé, Bennie James; daughters, Yekema Jenkins, Lavisa Gibson and Leneisha Burdis; brothers, J. C. Jenkins, George Jenkins, Gregory Jenkins, Cedric Jenkins and Clayton Jenkins; sister, Brenda Jenkins; and two grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her mother, DeCloria White Jenkins; brother, James Jenkins; sister, Marie Helen Sims; and grandparents, Louise Brown and Clark White and Melissa & Emanuel Jenkins, Sr.

She was a member of Devoted Sisters Organization and was employed by Community Living Alternatives.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 5, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Gray with the funeral to follow. She will be buried at the church cemetery.

Community Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
