Velma Josephine Collins Henry, 90, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Monday, March 23, at 12:10 a.m.

She is survived by her daughters Veral Hutchinson and husband Eldon of Bourg, La., and Sheral Pitre and husband Keith of Houma; grandchildren, Belinda Janeski, Jason Hutchinson, Chantel Charpentier, Shawn Pitre, Tracy Pitre and Brett Pitre; great-grandchildren, Bren Charpentier, Annaliese Charpentier, Madelyn Pitre, Lillie Pitre, Julia Pitre and Brianna Pitre; and step-grandchild, Paul Janeski.


She is preceded in death by her husband, Euince Henry; parents, Eugene and Eveline Luke Collins; brothers, Freddie, Camille, Myrtile, Jimmy, Emile, Connely and Allen Collins; and sisters, Eugenia Authement, Victoria Authement, Verna Authement and Myrtila LeBlanc.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday with burial at the church cemetery.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
