Villier Adam “V.A.” Daigle, 99, a native of Four Mile Bayou in Napoleonville, La., for 96 years and a resident of Donaldsonville, La., for four years, graduated from this life Wednesday, February 4, at 8:15 a.m.


He is survived by his daughter, Judy D. LeBlanc and husband Nolan Sr., of Donaldsonville; brothers, Louis “Bat” Daigle and Victor “Jake” Daigle of Morgan City, La.; sister, Josephine Duval of Morgan City; daughter-in-law, Darlene Daigle of Sulphur, La.; seven grandchildren, especially Nolan LeBlanc Jr. of Donaldsonville and Nathan LeBlanc of Thibodaux, La.; 12 great-grandchildren including one who touched his heart, Jordan LeBlanc of Donaldsonville; eight great-great-grandchildren; and one step-granddaughter who never forgot him, Cynthia Cavalier of Clearwater, Fl.

He was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Beaulah B. Daigle; parents, Louis Jean Baptist Daigle and Marie Alcidie Aucoin Daigle; son, Nolan “Oray” Daigle; son-in-law, Lawrence Simoneaux; daughter, Doris D. Simoneaux; brothers, Hypolite “Polite,” Joseph, Placide, Nelson and William Daigle; and sisters, Victorine Bailey, Mary Blanchard and Alma Hebert.


He was a loving father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, as well as a good friend and kind man. He was retired from Gulf Oil Company.

A special thanks to his best friend Cade St. Germain of Napoleonville and the staff at the D’Ville Nursing Home in Donaldsonville.

The funeral was Saturday at St. Anne Catholic Church in Napoleonville.

Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
