Vincent Charles “Bush” Greco, 88, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Friday, August 1.


He is survived by one daughter, Sharyn Greco Hecard; one sister, Dorothy G. Orgeron; two grandchildren, Christopher Hecard and Gina H. Smith; and two great-grandchildren, Sheridan and Carter Smith.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Lee Cleveland Greco; his parents, Philip Greco and Agnes Greco; one son, Gregory C. Greco; and two brothers, Sam and Anthony Greco.

He was a World War II veteran who helped build Higgens Boats before serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps, and a 45-year employee of Northrop Grumman Ship System. He served as an usher of St. Genevieve Catholic Church and was a member of VFW Post 5097, American Legion Post 0011, 40 & 8 Number 1038, Knights of Columbus Lafourche Council 1114, the Thibodaux Volunteer Fire Department (Vigilant Chemical & Hose) and Louisiana Fireman’s Association.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 5, at St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Thibodaux with mass to follow. He will be buried at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Landry’s Funeral Home in Thibodaux is in charge of the arrangements.
