Vincent “Coon” J. Mahler, 85, a native of Kraemer and resident of Chackbay, died Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009.

He is survived by his companion, Della Molaison; son, Christopher Mahler; daughters, Janice Folse, Vanessa Mahler and Juanita (Charles) Blanchard; brothers, Alidore, Albert, Butley and Lester Mahler; sisters, Mable Morvant, Gertrude Simoneaux, Henrietta Landry and Francis Reulet; eight grandchildren, Charles Blanchard Jr., Donald Blanchard, Bonnie Roten, Wendy Gaudet and Kelly, Kyle and Jeffrey “Jay” Folse Jr.; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne Landry Mahler; parents, Henry Sr. and Florestine Durocher Mahler; brothers, Louis “Jack,” Claude, Norman and Henry Mahler Jr.; and sisters, Louise Constant and Jeanne Guidry.

Mr. Mahler’s hobbies included tending to his garden, enjoying the outdoors and hunting.

He is buried at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church Cemetery in Thibodaux.
