Virges Schouest Guidry, 81, a native of Gheens, LA. and resident of Galliano, LA., died at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2007.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off, LA. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano, with burial in Cheramie Cemetery.


She is survived by one son, Cleveland Matherne; one brother, Euris Schouest; one sister, Beulah S. Landry; and foster mother to Beulah Landry, Euris and Nacy Schouest.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Justillian Guidry; her parents, Ernest and Lena Plaisance Schouest; five brothers, Roy, Tilman, Milton, Clandras and Nacy Schouest; and one sister, Eula S. Lasseigne.

She was Catholic.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
