Walter “Brat” Burdis Jr., 48, a native and resident of Labadieville, La., died Wednesday, Oct. 21.

He is survived by two daughters, Janea Elizabeth Joseph and Jaylin Nichole Burdis; mother, Gertrude M. Burdis of Labadieville; three sisters, Pauline Holly of Labadieville, Melia Burdis of Schriever, La., and Charity Brooks of Napoleonville, La.; one brother, Anthony Burdis of Waverly, Va.; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Burdis Sr.

Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at Williams & Southall Funeral Home in Napoleonville, and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at New Belmont Baptist Church in Labadieville. A religious service conducted by Rev. Johnny Johnson will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with burial at the church cemetery.

Williams & Southall Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
