March 23, 2012Walter George Sr., 73, a native of Houma and resident of Chauvin, La., died Friday, March 9, 2012.
Mr. George was a deacon at Corner Stone Baptist Church in Chauvin. He was a retired crane operator.
He is survived by his wife, Marion George; sons, Walter Jr. and Milton George and Ronald, Carl, Shedrick, Renard and Curtis Williams; daughters, Dawn Williams, Terri Ricks and Antoinette Fox; brothers, Junius, Raymond, August and Regis George; sister, Mary George; 59 grandchildren; 94 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Junius Sr. and Zenobia George; and sister, Audrey Robinson.
Visitation will be 12 to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 17, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Chauvin with services to follow. Burial will be at Corner Stone Baptist Church Cemetery. (Community)
