Wayne Joseph Pierce, 61, a native and resident of Cut Off, La., died at 10:19 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2011.


Mr. Pierce was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was master hamburger chef for the Cajun Heritage Festival and Mr. Early Plaisance’s right hand man. He attended the center and was a member of the bell choir. He was a friend to all who knew him and truly an Angel of God.


He is survived by his brothers, Sullivan, Ferrell (Trudy) and Ben “Mert” (Marie) Pierce; and nieces and nephews, Shannon, Shawn, Carly, Marcy, Luke, Chev and Sharla.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben Jr. and Edith Duet Pierce; and one sister, Gayle Pierce.

He is buried at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery in Cut Off. (Samart-Mothe)
