Wilda Mae Brown, 80, a native of Opelousas, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Saturday, Oct. 17.


She is survived by one son, Ivy Brown of Houma; six daughters, Linda Brown, Barbara Brown, Norma Brown, Judy Brown-Poindexter, Mona Murphy-Leslie and husband David, and Margaret Murphy-Lawson and husband Steve, all of Houma; one brother, Andrew Gallien of Lake Charles, La.; one sister, Julia Gallien-Lavergne of Lawtell; 19 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Clemetine and Jack Gallien Sr.; one daughter, Clemetine Brown; four brothers, Sydney Gallien, Simon Gallien, Simon J. Gallien and Jack Gallien Jr.; and three sisters, Edna M. Gallien-Garrett, Mary Gallien and Odelia Gallien-Guillory.

She was Catholic and a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales.

Visitation will be 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with the funeral service to follow. Burial will at St. Francis de Sales # 2 Cemetery.

Community Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
