Willard Anthony LeCompte, 79, a native of Chauvin, LA. and resident of Pointe-aux-Chenes, LA., died Thursday, January 25, 2007.


Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. today at Montegut Fire Station and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Monday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Esther LeBoeuf LeCompte; two sons, Derryl LeCompte and wife, Carol, and Carol John LeCompte and wife, Janelle; two daughters, Sandra Giffin and husband, Billy, and Janice Cranford and husband, Bill; nine grandchildren, Tammy, Damien, Tessie, Ashley, Kathy, Angie, Celeste, Tyler and Ryan; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Lilianne Lapeyrouse LeCompte; two sons, Glenn A. LeCompte and Kenneth Joseph LeCompte; one great-grandson, Jonathon M. Egeler; two brothers, Druis and Walton LeCompte; and three sisters, Hilda Trahan, Theresa LeBoeuf and Alida LeCompte.

Samart Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
