June 29, 2011Wilson Paul Voisin Sr., 88, a native and resident of Theriot, La., died at 7:55 p.m. Monday, June 27, 2011.
Mr. Voisin was a member of one of the pioneer families of Terrebonne Parish. His ancestor Jean Voisin came to Louisiana from France in the early 1780’s. He represented the sixth generation of his family in the oyster business. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by family and friends. He was a parishioner of St. Eloi Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Annie Voisin; children, Mary (Jesse) Martinez, Maxine (Roland) Theriot, Wilson (Charlotte) Voisin Jr. and Jo Ann Hidding; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonce Jr. and Pauline Voisin; brothers and sisters, Albert, Calvin, Eustis, Irvin, Julius, Norris and Eva Voisin, Mable Champagne and Vivian LaCoste.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, June 30, at St. Eloi Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Interment will be at the church cemetery. (Chauvin)
