Adam Richard Benoit, Jr., 70, a native and resident of Choctaw, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at University Baptist Church in Thibodaux, from 9:00 am until the Memorial Service at 11:00 am.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Judith B. Benoit; children, Adrian Kimberly and husband Keith, Jr., and Lance Benoit and wife Kelly; grandchildren, Austin Kimberly, Kaitlyn Kimberly, and Briella Benoit; siblings, Tessie Hebert, Sally Templet, Autry Benoit and wife Anna, Lloyd Benoit and wife Mary Jane, Irvin Benoit and wife Barbara, Elma Wilson, Erma Usea, Peter Benoit and wife Janice, Paul Benoit, and Patricia Landry; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his canine companion, J.J.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam Benoit, Sr. and Louise Benoit; siblings, Vernon Benoit, Jerry Benoit, Arthur Benoit, Rodney Benoit, Vergie Ross, Hazel Farace, and Merleane Molaison; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Adam loved God, his wife, children, and grandchildren, which was his pride and joy. He also loved his church family, as well as Pastor J.P. Cox and wife Lacie Cox at University Baptist Church, and was a member since 2019. Adam was an avid fisherman, hunter, and a hard-worker, and spent the majority of his time in the swamp. He worked at Pala Interstate Company for many years until he retired in 2016 at 63 years old. Adam will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family would like to thank the staff and doctors at Benson Cancer Center in New Orleans, as well as the nurses and staff at Hope Hospice for their care and compassion. The family would also like to thank everyone for their prayers and well-wishes during this time.
