Barbara Jane Louviere Vedros Romero, age 82, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, February 6, 2022. She was a native of Gibson and a resident of Houma, LA.


Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Friday, February 11, 2022, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. followed by burial at Bayou Black Cemetery.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Debbie V. (Michael) O’Connor, Kayla V. (Gerald III “Jerry”) Sanders, and Christie V. (Eric) Carrere; brother, Jerome (Gale) Louviere; sister-in-law Sandra Louviere; grandchildren, Matthew O’Connor, Brian O’Connor, Terah B. (Chris) Domingue, Kasi B. (Jovonn) Jones, Gabrielle S. (Alexander) Doppenberg, Shanell S. (Steven) Bardwell, Jennifer C. (Jacob) Aucoin, Erin C. (David) Boudreaux, Kristen C. (Jonathan) White, Mallory C. (Gavin) Triche, and Emily Carrere; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Barbara was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Richard Vedros and 2nd husband, Raoul Romero; companion, Clyde Lirette; daughter, Lori Anne Vedros; parents, Herbert “Frenchie” Sr. and Bernice Hebert Louviere; brothers, Herbert Jr. “Joker” (Martha), Floyd, Hugh “Whitey” Sr., and Ray Louviere; sister, Ruth Anne (Charles Sr.) Foret.


Barbara was the business owner of Heavenly Scent of Houma for over 28 years. She was very hardworking and committed to helping others with her giving spirit. Her life was deeply rooted in her faith, family and friends. Her greatest joy was any time spent with her grandchildren and beautiful great grandchildren. She will be missed dearly.

She was a longtime parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and member of the Ladies Altar Society.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the American Heart Association.


The family would like to thank Fresenius Kidney Care, Chateau Terrebonne Health Care, and Ochsner/Chabert Medical Center ER and Palliative Care.
