Brian J. Duet, 63, a native and resident of Thibodaux, passed at home peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, June 11, 2022.
He is survived by his three brothers, Thomas, Michael, and Jimmie Duet; eleven sisters, Beverly Marcel, Elaine Cortez, Mary Ann Gagneaux, Linda Fussell, Lorraine LeBlanc, Annette Hebert, Carol Duet, Roberta Jennings, Melissa Duet, Tracy Duplantis, and Dawn Duet; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Preston and Mary Andras Duet; two brothers, Charles and Wayne Duet; four sisters, Barbara Baudoin, Kathleen Fonseca, Judy Michel, and Michelle Duet. He is also preceded in death by the family pet, Sophie.
Brian was retired from the USDA Sugarcane Research Unit. He loved fishing with Thomas, his brother and best friend with whom he shared a home for 40 years along with his sister-in-law, Holly. Brian also shared a very special bond with Jake and Mindy Duet, Sarah and Angel Menendez, Jordan Duet and all of their children. Brian was a “reel” cool uncle, and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at St. Joseph Hospice for their care and compassion. The family would also like to give a special thank you to Dr. Russell Henry for all his years of taking care of Brian.
Per Brian’s wishes, there will be no memorial services.
