Carolyn Ann LeBlanc Thibodeaux, 83, passed peacefully on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at 3:35 AM, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a native and resident of Houma, LA. Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend who always put the needs of others before her own. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 12, 2022 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church from 9:00 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2.

She is survived by her son Lonnie Thibodeaux (Regina); daughter Monica Thibodeaux Rousse (Daryl); sisters Linda LeBlanc Brien (Barry) and Joan LeBlanc Blanchard (Roy); grandchildren Dr. Samantha Bland-Naquin (Al), Kaitlyn Thibodeaux Meche (Matthew), Kyler Thibodeaux, Landon Thibodeaux, Hannah Rousse, and Madison Rousse; great-grandchildren Audrey Naquin, Ivy Naquin, Margaret Naquin, Grayson Meche, and Isla Meche; and son-in-law Kevin Ghirardi.


She was preceded in death by her husband Roland Joseph Thibodeaux; parents Ivy and Audrey LeBlanc; daughter Connie Thibodeaux Ghirardi; and brother Donald Joseph LeBlanc.

Carolyn was a devout Catholic and a proud 1957 graduate of St. Francis de Sales School. She was a retired optical assistant and was a passionate fan of LSU sports and the World Series Champion Houston Astros.

The family wishes to thank everyone who cared for Carolyn during her illness, including physicians, nurses, aides, therapists and all those who touched her life, especially Dr. Sukesh Manthri and the staff of Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center; Dr. Andrea Lorio and the physicians and staff of the Pulmonary Care Clinic; Dr. Nathan Sutton and the hospitalist staff; Dr. Brian Matherne; the staff of Hope Hospice; the staff of Bayou Homecare; and her compassionate caregivers Faye Alsbrook, Cari Lapeyrouse, Lillian Dupre, and Kaycee Oldbear.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center at Terrebonne General, St. Bernadette Catholic School, or St. Francis de Sales Cathedral School.
