Dean Christopher Lapeyrouse, 79, a lifelong resident of Chauvin, LA, passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, November 7, 2023.
Family and friends of the family are invited to a visitation in his honor on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church from 9:30 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow in church cemetery.
Dean is survived by his son, Lester Lapeyrouse (Renetta); grandchildren, Austin and Jennifer Lapeyrouse; stepsons, Daniel Lyons, Richard “Ricky” Lyons, Jr. (Melvina), and Jeffrey Lyons; and numerous step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in passing by his parents, Lester and Gertrude Lapeyrouse; siblings, Terry Lapeyrouse, Sr., and Catherine Champagne; and wife, Judy Dupre Lapeyrouse.
After retirement, Dean found solace in the simple pleasures of life, like spending time on his back patio. Dean also found joy in outdoor activities, such as caring for his yard, being on the water, and catching shrimp at Robinson Canal. His happy place was being down the bayou. If he wasn’t spending his time outdoors, he enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family would like to thank Thibodaux Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Maison Bienvenue Assisted Living, Hope Hospice, and Chauvin Funeral Home for their extraordinary care during this difficult time.
