Dolores Ray Dupre, age 87, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. Dolores was a native and lifelong resident of Houma and a recent resident of Thibodaux.

 

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the celebration of life at Chauvin Funeral Home Saturday, November 25, 2023 from 9:00AM until service time at 11:00AM. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery No.2.


 

Dolores is survived by her daughters, Carolyn DeHart (Lawrence), Lisa Neal (Ed), Monica Bergeron (Travis), Aimee Worley (Charles), and Mary Bergeron (Tony); grandchildren, Michelle Johnson Theriot (Jason), Brian Johnson (Ines), Leslie Bergeron Birdwell (Sterling), Michael Prejean (Sarah), Hillary Bergeron and fiancé Steven Barrios, Courtney Yesso Duplantis (Paul), Matthew Bergeron, Kevin Worley, Kylie Bergeron, Alayna Bergeron, and Rachel Worley; great-grandchildren, Jordan M. Fabre and fiancé Jayce Blanchard, Bryce Fabre, Nathan Terro, Brayden Duplantis, Isabel Johnson, Hayes Duplantis, Caleb Duplantis, Christopher Prejean, and a great-grandson Charles Prejean, expected in February 2024; step-grandchildren, Lance Neal (Kristy), Keith Neal (Daniene), Katie DeHart Waguespack (Luke), and their foster children Wyatt and Omari, and Spencer DeHart; step-great-grandchildren, Sarah Neal Daigle (Job), Caroline Neal Benoit (Dawson), Grace Neal, Sophia Neal, and Adeline Neal; step-great-great-grandchildren, Ella Daigle, Adele Daigle, and Aubrey Benoit; siblings, Nell Ray, Lynette Ray Griffin, Hartley “Podna” Ray, Jr. (Jane), and Nancy Ray Hatch; brother-in-law, Floyd Breaux; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Reynold Andrew Dupre; infant daughter, Wendy Dupre; parents, Hartley Oscar and Nellie Boudreaux Ray; son-in-law, Jace Prejean; brother-in-law, Bernard “Butch” Hatch, Jr.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Renaud and Virgie Naquin Dupre; and sister-in-law, Dolores Dupre Breaux.

 

Dolores enjoyed spending time with her family, watching the LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints football games, growing her extensive collection of daylilies, winning games of canasta and Liverpool rummy, playing games with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and completing crossword and sudoku puzzles.


 

Dolores was a lifelong parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral in Houma. The family would like to thank Haydel Memorial Hospice for their compassionate service.
