Henry Clay “Jimmy” May, 73, a native of Terrebonne Parish and a resident of Houma, LA passed away November 2, 2023.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Marshall May and daughter, Jindia Jaswant Blount (Donnell) of Saint Helena Island, SC; brothers, David, Jeffrey (Lanita), Thomas Clyde, Roosevelt and Clarence May. Sisters, Alice C. Boutte (Herman), Rose Marie May, Laura Ann James (Bobby), and one sister-in-law, Mary Marshall.

He leaves, to carry on his legacy, seven grandchildren, Jordan May-Bryant, Jasmine N. May, Iyanna L. Blount, Jade D. Blount, Dondré J. Blount, and Ava G. Martin; three great grandsons, Talan E. Duncan, and Miles & Maurizio May-Bryant. He also leaves, to cherish his memory, a host of relatives and friends.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Jefferson Davis “JD” May of McComb, MS and Modenia Upton of Gibson, LA and son, Juan O’Neil May of Arlington, TX, step-mother, Helen Doris May, and step-father Samuel Upton; one sister, Faye A. May of McComb, MS, his mother- and father-in-law (Susie and Nathaniel Marshall) both of Houma, LA, four brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law.
