Nicholls State University recently hosted a ribbon cutting to unveil their all-new athletic covered practice facility on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. This event was in conjunction with the groundbreaking of Nicholls State University’s new Coastal Center and an announcement of their upcoming College of Nursing Building. This is the first time three construction projects have taken place on campus simultaneously during Nicholls’ 75 years, with almost $45 million dollars in state investment.

“This is a very exciting day in the history of Nicholls State University,” said University President Jay Clune. “The facility reflects a commitment to providing our student athletes with the resources they need to excel on and off the field. It is a testament to the tremendous dedication of our athletes and our coaching staff– they inspire us with their hardwork everyday.”

“There is a breeze of hope blowing across Louisiana today, and across this campus,” continued Governor John Bel Edwards. “I thank all of you for working on this project to make it happen.”

Also in attendance were Senator Bret Allain, Lafourche Parish President Archie Chaisson, Thibodaux Mayor Kevin Clement, Nicholls State University Director of Athletics Jonathan Terrell, Head Football Coach Tim Rebowe, and members of multiple Nicholls athletic teams.
