Lauren’s whole life has been a master class in quiet suffering and finding joy in the midst of it. She suffered and struggled and overcame massive medical hurdles and illnesses due to Cystic Fibrosis but she never complained. She was sunshine and joy and thankfulness despite a lifetime of struggles. She was always other people’s greatest cheerleaders and confidants, regardless of what was going on in her own camp. She loved her people so fiercely, with a love that will not soon be forgotten.

The family would like to express how important the Nicholls State University faculty, friends and alumni have been to Lauren and her family. She adored her University and the people that belonged to its community. Nicholls allowed Lauren to reach her dream. All she ever wanted was to teach. This last year as an assistant professor was her dream.

The family would also like to thank Dr. Rey Rampolla, Dr. Shapley, Ward Miller, N.P. and the entire transplant team and nursing staff at Ochsner Medical Center.

In honor of Lauren’s staunch advocacy for organ donation, the family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Louisiana Organ Procurement Association or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation – Louisiana Chapter.

Ordoyne Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
