Francis “Gene” Eugene Grilliot, 77, died Thursday, June 29, 2023 at 2:20 AM. Born November 26, 1945 he was a native of Eaton, Ohio and resident of Thibodaux, Louisiana.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023 from 9:00 AM until service time at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM with burial following at Saint Joseph Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Delta Richard Grilliot; daughters, Debra “Peanut” Grilliot, Amy Kimbril (Jeremy Leonard); grandchildren, Joseph Percle, Bradley Richardson, Blaine Grilliot, Amber Trussell, Krystal Clement, Kandie Lingner; 8 great grandchildren, siblings, Kate Myers (Bob), Martin Grilliot (Jackie), Robert Grilliot, Frankie Grilliot, Rev. Ray Grilliot (Carolyn).
He is preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Hannah Grilliot; son, Francis Eugene Grilliot, Jr.; niece, Rachel Meyers; father and mother in law, Pierre Richard and Lillian Tregre Richard.
He was a United States Navy Vietnam Veteran and member of the VFW. He was employed for Total Transport and also worked for American Eagle.
Ordoyne Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
