Lawrence Antione Bergeron, age 84, passed away peacefully on the morning of Sunday, July 16, 2023. He was born to Lawrence and Velma Bergeron on December 22, 1938, in Houma, Louisiana.

Relatives and friends of the family are welcome to attend the visitation for Lawrence on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Chauvin Funeral Home (5899 HWY 311, Houma, LA 70360) from 9 AM until Military honors held at 10:30am, service time will be at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery on 8594 Main Street, Houma, Louisiana.

Lawrence is survived by his loving and caring wife of 57 years, Barbara Triche Bergeron; his children, Kelly (Richard) Songe and Wayne (Jackie) Bergeron; his grandchildren, Matthew (Kristin) Songe, Casey Songe, Kaitlyn (Blake) Beniot, Lynn Paul (Allison) Dupre and Jeremy (Kristi) Giroir; his great-grandchildren, Collin, Sarah, William, Landon, Austin, Ella, Vance, Luka, Eli and Stella; his siblings, Norma Duplantis and Bonnie (Carl) Telano; and his brother and sister in laws, Virgie (L.J.) Callais and Rock (Dinah) Triche.


Lawrence is preceded in passing by his parents, Lawrence A. Bergeron Sr. and Velma Bergeron; his father and mother-in-law, Cleveland and Salazie Triche; sister, Carolyn LeCompt; brothers-in-law, Jasper LeCompt and Herbert Duplantis; stepson, Dale Duplantis; and Godchild, Kim Chauvin.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Bergeron, Lynn Dupre, Jeremy Giroir, Richard Songe, Matthew Songe, Casey Songe, and Blake Benoit.

Lawrence was a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1962 and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for 55 years. He loved researching his family history, doing church work, painting, and building things for his loved ones. But, most of all he loved spending his time with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
