Nathan Guilfou, age 72, native of New Iberia and longtime resident of Chauvin La., passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, November 30, 2023.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation for Nathan on Saturday December 9, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin beginning at 9 am until service time at 11 am. A burial is to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.


Nathan is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda Guilfou; children, Andre Guilfou (Brooke), Russell Guilfou (Mary), Claire Kern (Jason), and Jessica Guilfou; grandchildren, Noah, Ian, Olivia, Marie, Annie, Elizabeth, and Ella Guilfou, Caroline, and Charlotte Kern; sister, Natalie Ryan (Allen); and sister-in-law, Ruth Guilfou.

Nathan is preceded in death by his parents, Ella and Failman Guilfou; brother, Norman Guilfou; mother and father-in-law, Alvin, and Ethel Ledet; and sister-in-law, Karen Ledet.

Nathan was a teacher for 25 years in the Terrebonne Parish School District and he coached his sons and other youth in his community’s sports team.  In his free time, he enjoyed watching LSU sports and Saints football. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and loved ones. Nathan will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.


The family would like to send out a special thanks to the Doctors who cared for him within the last few years. They would also like to thank the healthcare workers at Ochsner Main Campus.
