Rosemary M. Blanchard, 89, a native and resident of Chauvin, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022.


Visitation will be held Monday, April 18, 2022, at Samart Funeral Home on West Park from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Samart Funeral Home on West Park from 9:00 am until the Funeral Service at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at St. Elie Cemetery in Chauvin.

She is survived by her children, Diana Falgout (Sheryl) and Philip Blanchard (Cynthia); grandchildren, Christina Falgout, Richard Falgout (Amber), Abigail Blanchard (Jovi), and Joshua Blanchard; step-grandchildren, Jed Levron, Dawn Baye, and Thomas Levron; great-grandchildren, Harley Sherman (Andy), Christina Johnson (Issaic), Christopher Johnson, Alaigha Falgout, Victoria Falgout, Mallory Falgout, Aeryn Chauvin, Hayden Chauvin, and Evelyn Hebert; step-great-grandchildren, Luke Blanchard and Ethan Baye; sister, Rosabell Lirette; god daughters, Evelyn Ellender, Gloria Foret, and Sandra Whitney; and her dear friends, Emile Fanguy and Claude Fanguy.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Jerris Blanchard; parents, Enos and Clothile Martin; and brother-in-law, Roland Lirette.


Rosemary was known for collecting porcelain dolls and loved ordering stuff on magazines. She was also known for her strong personality, her blunt honesty, and would always tell it like it is. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family would like to thank the CCU nurses and doctors at Terrebonne General, the staff at The Haydel Family Practice, and her caregivers at Chateau Terrebonne for their care and compassion.
