Steve Patrick Michel, P.D., 65, a native and resident of Houma, Louisiana, passed away on Friday, December 8th, 2023. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Visitation will be held at St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church on Thursday, December 14th from 9:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. A graveside service at St. Francis DeSales No. 2 cemetery will follow.

Steve is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Julie Johnson Michel; daughter, Andrae Michel Hebert (Rory); sons, Brandon (Jovanny), and Bryce; grandchildren, Kate, William, and Jack Hebert; siblings, Michael (Ann Claire), Victor (Sheila), Carole Prevost (Robert), Charles (Paula), Chris (Jacqueline), Gerald (Himaya), and Martin (Allison), and a large extended family.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Irene Crochet Michel; and brothers, Paul Crochet Jr. and Angelo Michel.

After graduating from Northeast Louisiana University in 1980, Steve began his lifelong career as a pharmacist. In 1982, he opened his first drugstore, Michel’s Pharmacy. It eventually grew into five locations and proudly served the residents of Houma, Gray, and Morgan City for many years.

Steve valued his family above everything else. His favorite and proudest times were spent watching his grandchildren grow up. A lifelong parishioner of St. Bernadette, he volunteered his time in many ministries. He truly loved to help people, and his strong faith served as an inspiration to many.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Kidney Cancer Research Alliance at www.KCCure.org.

The Michel Family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Tulane Cancer Research Center and to Journey Hospice and its wonderful and caring staff.
