The prep football playoffs started in Louisiana last night with big games all across the state.

Two of our six local competitors moved past the first round – both competing in Division II, which encompasses private schools with Class 3A and Class 4A enrollments.

Vandebilt moved on to Quarterfinals in Division II by scoring a 21-14 triumph over Lusher. With the win, the Terriers will take on No. 1 University Lab on Friday night. The Cubs had an opening-round bye as the top seed.

At the bottom of the Division II bracket, E.D. White also advanced, trumping Loyola 35-17.
